I have a 1275cc 1982 Austin Mini, which has covered almost 160,000 miles from new. I recently had the engine overhauled and am now experiencing some minor early morning starting difficulties after standing outside overnight. Upon turning the key to the start position, the starter pinion engages, then immediately disengages without turning the engine. It is then necessary to turn the key to the start position again, when the engine turns over slowly, and always starts. The engine has covered 7 thousand miles since being re-bored. Once started the engine runs without fault for the rest of the day. Does anyone have any ideas? I was the first person to sign your visitors book in June 2004, and I also very much enjoyed my visit to the Centenary Event in 2005. David.",
